Work > Sentinel Walks

This print series uses 3D scanning software to capture walks made during my time at the Design Inquiry residency on the island of Vinalhaven, Maine in June 2023. Each print depicts a walk adhering to a specific constraint, such as following a specific path in the landscape. As a part of this project, I created a paper headpiece cut into the shape of an accidental shadow sometimes visible in Google Street View that reveals the presence of the car-mounted panoramic imagery that creates the map’s imagery. Similar to the shadow in Google Street View, the resulting cast shadow in the 3D scans depicted in this print series also reveals its maker, the artist performing and scanning the walk.
