WORK > Aerial Mesh

The project Aerial Mesh explores the histories of aerial imaging and tactical camouflage through the lens of contemporary surveillance technologies. These works utilize textiles printed with Google Earth imagery, specifically views where tree canopies obscure the ground from satellite surveillance. The imagery is woven through nets, evoking a traditional form of camouflage. The woven images hover between legibility and distortion, sometimes forming new disruptive patterns that reference historical images.
