Studies for Aerial Mesh
The Aerial Mesh studies were created while in residence at the Contemporary Print Media Research Center at UC Santa Cruz. The prints draw from imagery from Google Earth of the area, created by satellite images being wrapped around a 3D modeled terrain. The imagery depicts the tree foliage that blocks the satellite’s view of the site and is printed on cotton rag and mulberry papers, laser cut into forms evoking nets, and collaged together. Depicting the same image, the collaged shapes become partially indistinguishable from the background.
